Welcome to Mrs. Heiman's Room
My name is Erin Heiman and I teach special needs students in 2nd and 3rd grade at Lincoln School. I have been teaching special education since 1983. I graduated from Illinois State University in 1982 and received my masters' degree from Aurora University in 1999.
This year is exciting because I will get to spend more time in my students' homerooms helping with all areas of academics. I will also be focusing more time with my groups on our special education reading program, SRA Reading Mastery. SRA Reading Mastery is a direct instruction program that teaches all the skills children need to master the basics of reading. I will also be teaching our new math series Number Worlds.
I am looking forward to this year and all the great things that will come out of it!
