Grade Level Student Learner Objectives and Targets

The Common Core Standards have been adopted by the State of Illinois in August of 2010. The will offer an improved rigorous guide for curriculum and assessment in preparation for college and career readiness. They will begin being assessed in the 2014-2015 school year and replace the Illinois Learning Standards in Mathematics and English Language Arts. The Illinois Learning Standards will remain as guide for all remaining subject areas.

Grade Level Student Learning Goals list the essential understandings and goals for each content area. The learning goals are aligned to the Illinois Learning Standards. They describe "what students should know and be able to do" by the end of each grade level. Learning goals are currently available for Kindergarten through 5th grade.
